RIETER ULTRA SILENT™ is the lightweight fiber technology for underfloor panels and under engine shields. With its high performance and competitive economics it provides the best-in-class combination of absorption and high stiffness. It is 100% glass-free PET and fully recyclable. The unique technology allows car manufacturers to achieve all future performance, weight and environmental targets and is based on a patented material-process combination developed jointly by Rieter Automotive Systems and Rieter Textile Systems.
RIETER ULTRA SILENT™ offers excellent acoustics and lower weight:
- 1.5 db (A) / 3% average Sound Pressure Level (SPL) improvement of exterior noise compared to solid plastics solutions
- on one specific vehicle example: 2.7kg (45%) lower weight was achieved on the underbody package
Underbody shields in RIETER ULTRA SILENT™ technology can be combined with an acoustic heat shield system to further improve exterior noise and provide excellent thermal management.
