Rieter Textile Systems bestowed the Rieter Award 2006 on Arwa Wahhoud, Germany, Balaji Malaisrinivasan, India, Ashok Kumar Kundu, India, Saleem Iqbal Khan, Pakistan and Al Muhamed Sliman, Syria. The winners enjoyed a week in Switzerland to visit Rieter Textile Systems and the country.

The Rieter Award has been bestowed every year since 1989 on students or young professionals who distinguished themselves during their studies. 2006 the winners came form Germany, India, Pakistan and Syria. The comprehensive weekly program offered not only to get to know the Rieter management and Rieter's products and services, to visit Spoerry & Co AG in Flums a leading spinning mill for fine yarn but also to see the sights of Lucerne and Schaffhausen.
