08/26/2016 - Rieter sponsors the Dornbirn Man-made Fibres Congress (MFC)

Rieter is the silver sponsor of the Man-made Fibres Congress 2016 in Dornbirn. Rieter's lecture on polyester processing with air-jet technology is eminently suitable. Rieter welcomes the initiative „Young Scientist Forum“ of the MFC to promote young research talents and is proud that one of its employees can participate. Rieter is not only presenting the latest know-how on the processing of synthetic fibres in Dornbirn, but also at the ITMA ASIA + CITME 2016 in Shanghai in October 2016, where this will be a key topic.

The 55th Man-made Fibre Congress in Dornbirn (Austria) takes place from 20 to 22 September 2016.

From 20 to 22 September 2016, the Man-made Fibre Congress in Dornbirn is being held for the 55th time. Rieter is supporting the event as a silver sponsor. In addition, Dr. Gunnar Johansson, Head of the Product Unit Air-Spinning at Rieter, will speak about his experiences with different PES types on the air-jet machine. The detailed programme of events can be downloaded from the organiser's homepage (www.dornbirn-mfc.com).

Involved for many years

Experts agree that with growing prosperity the fibre consumption per head will continue to increase. Forecasts assume that global consumption will rise from the current 80 to around 150 million tons in 2030 (Source: PCI). This increase cannot be satisfied only with cotton in the short staple spinning mill. Synthetic fibres will be needed to adequately meet the increasing demand.

Rieter has for many years attached great importance to this trend and takes it into account in the machine development. On Rieter machines, cotton, man-made fibres and their blends can be processed. As China already now processes considerable amounts of man-made fibres, Rieter will also focus on the processing of synthetic fibres at the ITMA ASIA + CITME 2016 in October.

Premiere – Young Scientist Forum

This year for the first time, the Young Scientist Forum will be held the day before the congress. Its aim is to promote young textile trainees. Selected research talents have the opportunity to become networked in the industry and to take part in the workshop on the theme of „Future Design of the Innovation Process – Challenges & Opportunities“. For this, Christian Fischermann from the spinning laboratory of Wilhelm Stahlecker GmbH (Suessen, Germany), a subsidiary of Rieter, has also been nominated.
