The Award Week

To start the 25th Rieter Award week, the winners presented their project theses to the Rieter Award Jury. This was followed by a tour of the Company headquarters in Winterthur. The rest of the week was used to get to know Switzerland and its culture better. Amongst the highlights were: a tour of the company Victorinox, the chocolate manufacturer Maestrani as well as the Appenzell show dairy in Stein. It goes without saying that a visit to Lucerne, the Rhine Falls and the snow-covered Titlis mountain were also included in the week’s program. In addition, the winners had the opportunity during the entire week to establish contact with the Rieter Management and the members of the Sales Department.

Official Award Ceremony

On Thursday evening, 12 September 2013, the official presentation of the Award took place in the presence of the Rieter regional sales managers. The winners were ceremoniously admitted to the Rieter Award Club. With the honoring of the 2013 winners, around 130 students have been awarded this prestigious prize since the founding of the Rieter Award in 1989. In a further ceremony, the Rieter Award trophy, a Swiss mountain crystal, and the Award Certificate will be presented at the respective university of each winner.

The Rieter Award Encourages Young Professionals

Since 1989, the Rieter Award has been bestowed annually on students and young professionals. With this attractive prize, Rieter encourages skilled youngsters and thereby supports the universities and institutes in their efforts to win excellent students for a vocational training in the field of textiles. Selection of the Rieter Award winners was carried out globally. Students and young professionals who have excelled themselves by well-founded work and great commitment in the field of textile engineering were selected.
