Rieter LGPS R 20

In conventional positioning of the traveling robot at the spinning position, the traveling robot snapped into notches in the centering track.

Frequent piecing processes with the traveling robot cause wear and tear of the notches in the course of time. This wear is apparent from rounding-off at the corners of the notches and results in incorrect positioning of the traveling robot at the spinning position. Which influence the robot badly in his function and this in turn leads to problems during piecing.

Application

Rieter LGPS R1

Rieter LGPS R1

The modernization by the Rieter LGPS is suitable for all rotor spinning machines R 1 and R 20.

Highlights

Centering robot at R 20 via LGPS

Centering robot at R 20 via LGPS

With the Rieter LGPS modernization package the positioning of the robot at the spinning position will be performed by means of laser technology in future. During positioning for the piecing process, the robot aligns itself with a reflector mounted on the spinning box by means of a laser beam. In order to ensure optimum safety, the laser is deactivated as soon as the robot moves into the service zone.

This solution prevents wear and tear on the centering tracks for the robot. Furthermore, contamination of the yarn by metal dust is eliminated and friction wheel abrasion minimized. In addition, the heavily loaded coupling for the drive motor is no longer needed. In general, stress on the mechanism of the robot as a whole is reduced, thus extending its service life.

Advantages

Worn centering track

Worn centering track

  • Accurate positioning of the robot increases productivity
  • Working independently of the software version in the robot
  • Significant reduction in downtimes
  • Heavily loaded coupling for the drive motor is no longer needed
  • Contamination of the yarn by friction wheel abrasion/metal dust is minimized
  • Improved rotor cleaning with “AIRpulse” and “Xclean”, as the rotor groove is cleaned again in the runup phase of the rotor at the R 20
