30% Higher Production with the Card C 80

Saqib Salim, Director Blessed Textiles Ltd.

Blessed Textile Ltd. in Pakistan is part of the integrated business Umer Group which has been in the textile business for more than three decades. The spinning mills are equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and lab equipment to ensure high quality and consistency. With an investment in the high-performance card C 80, they become more profitable and tap into new markets.

The Challenge

With their installed cards C 70 the productivity was already high. However, Blessed was keen to find out if – with the latest technology of the high-performance card C 80 – it is possible to increase the productivity without any compromises in yarn quality. Opening up new markets was another of Blessed's goals. This required a better appearance of the fabrics produced with air-jet yarn.

The Solution

Blessed has been working with Rieter machines from the blowroom to end spinning for many years in its spinning mills. They trust in Rieter’s know how and were confident that an investment in the C 80 will pay off and make them more profitable.

Key features of C 80:

  • Maximum sliver quality thanks to 40 active flats and a highly precise carding gap
  • The longest carding length with 307° cylinder utilization
  • Simple maintenance with an intelligent design featuring a modular assembly and easy accessibility

The Customer’s Benefits

To compare the C 80 with the known quality from the C 70, two trials were carried out for a ring carded spin-twisted yarn Ne 10 and a ring carded yarn Ne 20. For the ring carded spin-twisted yarn, the C 80 runs with 30% higher production with the same yarn quality and 0.5% less card waste compared to the previous model C 70. The yarn achieves values for an Uster 5% standard.

C 80 with 30% higher production with the same yarn quality and 0.5% less card waste compared to the C 70.

For the ring carded yarn, the C 80 achieved a 27% higher production level than the C 70 at 33% better yarn quality. Also with air-jet spinning, the appearance of the fabrics improved thanks to the C 80 which opened up new markets for Blessed.

These results show that the C 80 runs at a significantly higher production level with the same or even better yarn quality compared to the C 70. Blessed is now able to calculate for further machine investments with a higher card production. This results in lower costs for sliver production because a lower number of cards is required and the customer achieves a higher yield.

The technological innovations in the card C 80 make us more profitable. Production has increased substantially and the consistently high yarn quality makes us even more attractive for our downstream customers. Mr. Saqib Salim, Director Blessed Textiles Ltd.
