ITMA 2019 in Barcelona – Highlights of Day 5 and 6

Second week at ITMA 2019: Customers as well as visitors with questions regarding new spinning technologies and process optimizations experienced the competence of the Rieter textile technology team at booth C 201 in hall 6.

What a beginning: The Nigerian based private company Nice Corporate Services Ltd. is building a complete new textile industrial township in an area of 300 hectares in Jigawa State (Nigeria). Only world-class textile machinery suppliers such as Rieter have been selected to partner in this pioneering enterprise. Contracts have been signed during ITMA 2019 in Barcelona.

At 10:30 a.m., Rieter CEO Norbert Klapper opened the “Media and Investor Briefing” and introduced the newest products and services of the Rieter Group such as the most economical direct rotor process. He talked about news from the inventors of compacting, air-jet spinning and ESSENTIAL – Rieter Digital Spinning Suite. And he gave information about solutions for optimizing the installed base of Rieter machines and presented highlights of Bräcker, Graf, Novibra, Suessen and SSM. A Q&A session and a booth tour completed the briefing.

In the meantime, SSM showed fantastic possibilities for creating fancy effects with air-textured yarn. SSM provides a wide range of devices for producing fancy yarns with specific effects, such as fancyflex to fashion unique fabrics and increase the competitiveness of yarn manufacturers.

Bräcker presented the latest traveller C1 ELM udr. Its new geometry leads to different support surfaces between the ring and the traveller and can counter the stress on the system. Furthermore, the C1 ELM udr achieves up to 30% longer lifetime at highest spindle speeds. With the SOLIDRING, Suessen has defined a quality standard for the open-end spun yarns. The modified tooth shape of the new ProFiL®SOLIDRING B 188 is going along with unbeatable advantages. Suessen also presented the further improved New EliTe®Compact System containing the recently developed parts and spinning components. The first discussions with customers reflected a huge interest in this upgraded technology.

And Rieter awarded large contract from Egypt: The Rieter Group has signed contracts with the Cotton & Textile Industries Holding Company, Cairo (Egypt). These seven projects entail a total of CHF 180 million. The contract comprises delivery of compact- and ring-spinning systems over the next two years. This order is part of a comprehensive modernization program of the Egyptian textile industry. The order intakes are anticipated to be realized in 2019 with sales posted in the 2020/2021 financial years.
