The 130th Annual General Meeting of Rieter Holding Ltd. takes place on Thursday, April 15, 2021.

It will not be possible for shareholders to attend the Annual General Meeting and no entrance tickets will be sent.

Why do you not have a woman on the Board of Directors?

Rieter is working to increase the proportion of women in the company and on the Board of Directors.

How does Rieter ensure that more profit is generated again?

Despite the extremely difficult situation, Rieter made further progress in implementing its corporate strategy in the 2020 financial year: Technology and innovation leadership, solutions for the installed base and the continuous improvement of the cost position.

Demand picked up significantly in the fourth quarter of 2020, so that Rieter enters the 2021 financial year with optimism.

Can you please elaborate on the extent to which the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors participated in the salary sacrifice in fiscal 2020?

Due to the COVID-19 situation, all Board members voluntarily waived 20% of their remuneration for 2020 and all members of the Executive Committee waived 10% of their fixed remuneration for three months in 2020.

Through short-time working compensation, reduced vacation and time credits and salary waivers, Rieter saved around CHF 12 million in costs in 2020.

How did Rieter’s market share develop in the year of the pandemic 2020?

Rieter regularly reviews the market shares of the three business groups. According to the figures available, the global market share was around 30% in 2020.

Do you envisage paying a dividend again if the financial statements are positive?

The company’s dividend policy provides for a payout ratio of at least 40% of net profit.

Is Rieter considering legal actions to recover compensation for the costs caused by the COVID-19 pandemic?

Rieter sees no basis for legal actions.
