Operating over 240 000 spindles, Ibrahim Fibres Limited, one of Pakistan’s leading producers of polyester staple fiber, upgraded several ring spinning machines with Suessen’s compacting device COMPACTeasy to lift yarn quality without increasing costs. The retrofit delivered lower hairiness, higher yarn strength, and greater overall process efficiency.

Ibrahim Fibres Limited runs four highly automated spinning plants producing fine count blended and pure synthetic yarns.

With strong international demand and rising quality expectations, the company looked for a compacting solution that is robust, easy to operate, cost-efficient, and particularly effective for synthetic and blended yarns, where hairiness remains a key challenge.

Wanted: A Simple Compacting Solution

IFL defined three core requirements for a compacting system:

  • very low investment
  • minimal operating costs
  • a significant reduction in yarn hairiness

After an initial trial installation, COMPACTeasy not only met these requirements — it exceeded them. Today, around 17 700 spindles equipped with COMPACTeasy are running successfully at Ibrahim Fibres Limited, with a further 11 456 spindles ordered and scheduled for installation in 2026.

Lower Hairiness, Higher Tenacity, No Extra Energy

With COMPACTeasy in operation, Ibrahim Fibres reports consistent improvements across all upgraded spinning positions:

  • hairiness reduced by about 10%
  • tenacity increased by about 5%
  • no increase in machine energy consumption, thanks to the purely mechanical, energy-free compacting principle

These gains translate into stronger downstream performance and more stable processes – including fewer warping breaks and higher loom efficiency – ultimately supporting higher customer satisfaction.

“Zero Maintenance” and Improved Yarn Quality

“We bought COMPACTeasy and are happy with this decision because it offers zero maintenance and significantly improved yarn quality while keeping energy consumption unchanged,” says Zafar Iqbal, General Manager (New Projects) at Ibrahim Fibres Limited. “We are in close contact with Suessen and even cooperating with them on several new products. We are also satisfied with the services delivered by Suessen and their local agent – their response is fast and very professional.”

Strengthening Competitiveness Now and for the Future

The compacting upgrade delivers measurable quality improvements without added energy consumption, complexity, or maintenance. With a strong return on investment, COMPACTeasy has become a key lever in reinforcing the competitiveness of Ibrahim Fibres Limited in a demanding global market.
