Carded Recycled Yarn Success with Rieter G 38 and COMPACT4

Nahar Spinning Mills Ltd., one of India’s leading cotton yarn producers, invested in Rieter ring spinning machines G 38 equipped with the compacting solution COMPACT4. The solution enables the mill to produce combed, carded and recycled yarns on one platform and delivers approximately 18% higher productivity in Ne 40 weaving yarns and 22% in Ne 40 knitting yarns.

More Flexibility in a Dynamic Market

Nahar Spinning Mills, established in 1980, produces cotton yarns in counts from Ne 30 to Ne 80 for domestic and international markets. To strengthen its competitiveness, the company needed more process flexibility: a wide range of yarn counts, including coarser and carded yarns, had to be produced efficiently while maintaining consistently high yarn quality.

At the same time, Nahar wanted to process recycled fibers to support its sustainability goals without compromising productivity or yarn performance. Optimizing energy and raw material utilization, reducing conversion costs and improving machine productivity were further key requirements.

One Platform for Combed, Carded and Recycled Yarns

Nahar invested in Rieter ring spinning machines G 38 equipped with the compacting system COMPACT4. The technology provides superior fiber control and reduced downtime, resulting in stable spinning performance, higher machine efficiency and consistently high yarn quality.

Today, Nahar produces both combed and carded yarns on the same platform and efficiently processes recycled cotton fibers without compromising quality. This allows the mill to respond quickly to changing market demands while supporting its sustainability objectives.

Up to 22% Higher Productivity in Ne 40 Knitting Yarns

Within months of commissioning, Nahar achieved approximately 18% higher productivity in Ne 40 weaving yarns and 22% in Ne 40 knitting yarns compared to their existing compact-spinning machines while consistently meeting the required quality standards. Across a wide range of yarn counts and applications, COMPACT4 delivers productivity levels that significantly outperform conventional compact-spinning systems.

The productivity gains are complemented by outstanding yarn quality. With a low hairiness index of 3.6 and excellent Uster CVm values of 11.8%, the yarns show improved regularity, enhanced weaving performance, fewer downstream interruptions and superior fabric quality.

The low-maintenance design and energy-efficient operation ensure high machine availability and lower operating costs. Combined with the Autoconer X6 Multilink, which provides seamless process integration, optimized material flow and reduced labor dependency, the solution further enhances operational efficiency and transparency.
