Introducing G 38

With spindle speeds up to 28 000 rpm the production is on the highest level. The machine consumes minimal energy thanks to energy-efficient components such as LENA 28 spindles, IE4 main motors and optimized suction systems. Customers benefit from the 25% faster doffing system. The new and faster cop transport system SERVOdisc needs less maintenance. The new version of the ring spinning machine G 38 is available either as fully or semi-electronic system on demand.

G 38 key features

Ring spinning machine G 38 doffer
25% faster doffing maximizes production time

Highest spindle speeds of up to 28 000 rpm

25% faster doffing with a cycle time of only 90 seconds brings massive productivity benefits. The 12% faster cop transport SERVOdisc for systems linked to the winding machine needs less maintenance.

The High-Speed Package (34 mm spinning ring, 16 mm DUI tube/spindle dimension, LENA 28 spindle) enables maximum productivity. The ring spinning machine G 38 runs with spindle speeds of up to 28 000 rpm and high delivery speeds of up to 40 m/min.

The G 38 consumes minimal energy thanks to energy-efficient components such as LENA 28 spindles, IE4 main motors and optimized suction systems. The power monitoring function also helps to save energy.

Detailed view - spinning positions with ISM Premium (Individual Spindle Monitoring system)
Individual spindle monitoring system ISM premium ensures highest yarn quality

Innovative solutions for superior yarn quality

The individual spindle monitoring system ISM premium is now standard for all Rieter ring and compact-spinning machines. It monitors the running properties and simplifies operator guiding. Roving stop and the intelligent link system to the winder guarantee high yarn quality and maximum raw material utilization.

Special tools simplify the processing of man-made fibers and blends, therefore improving the performance of the machine. Rieter offers a complete ring spinning system that is designed to process recycled fibers in the best possible way.

The quality package Q-Package for cotton decisively improves the fiber guidance between the cradle and the nipping point of the delivery roller. The new short balloon setting reduces yarn tension peaks and lowers the yarn breaks rates. Alternatively, the production speed can be increased.

G 38 convinces with full flexibility to produce standard, compact and special yarns

Full flexibility for standard, compact and special yarns

The new G 38 machine is available as fully electronic or semi-electronic system. The main difference lies in the drafting drive. All important yarn parameters can be easily set on the panel. On the fully electronic machine, also the yarn count can be changed on the panel.

The compacting devices COMPACTdrum, COMPACTapron and COMPACTeasy can simply be plugged in and out. For all machine lengths, the ring spinning machine G 38 can be equipped with devices for slub, core, and twin yarn production.

The piecing robot ROBOspin ensures consistent quality of the yarn piecing and significantly reduces personnel requirements. The G 38 can work as a stand-alone machine or as a direct link or Multilink with the Rieter winding machine Autoconer X6.

Frequently asked questions

What is new in the latest G 38 compared to previous models?

Latest G 38 has the following new features:

  • a new cop transport SERVOdisc
  • the short-balloon setting
  • the High-Speed package (optional)
  • a faster doffer (optional)
  • a new HMI
  • air-cooled drafting motors

How can I achieve higher speeds on my ring spinning machine G 38?

The further development of the Rieter ring and compact-spinning machines with the High-Speed Package yields enormous benefits to the customer in terms of productivity, flexibility, and energy savings. The High-Speed Package consists of three components that enable maximum spindle speeds.

  1. The high-precision spindle LENA 28
  2. A smaller ring with a diameter of just 34 mm which reduces traveler speed and opens up potential for an increase in spindle rotation
  3. A tube with a smaller bottom inner diameter (DUI) to get the the same yarn weight on the tube and to ensure the number of doffing processes remains the same.

With a delivery speed of up to 40 m/min, the G 38 with the High-Speed Package produces 12% more yarn.

Is the short-balloon setting a standard feature?

The short-balloon setting is standard for new machines and can also be ordered as an upgrade for already installed machines.

What performance improvement does the short-balloon setting offer?

Trials at spinning mills showed that this brings advantages in terms of up to 10% less ends down rates in average and longer traveler lifetime. Alternatively, the ends down rate can be kept constant, and instead the spindle speed can be increased by 3 to 6%. With an 8% longer traveler lifetime spinning mills save maintenance costs and reduce downtimes.

Can I also produce slub, core and twin yarn with the G 38?

Yes, the optional VARIOspin drive system for slub yarn production is completely integrated into the fully electronic version, with a separate panel for easy operation and design.

With the core yarn devices, soft, hard, and dual core yarns can be produced. The devices work with a traversing guide roll for the filament. The traversing system for the filament is aligned with the traversing system of the roving.

To produce a twin yarn, two rovings must run to one spinning position. In the drafting system, both are drafted separately. The rovings are then twisted together in the spinning triangle.

Can the G 38 process man-made fibers?

Rieter offers a full package of components especially for man-made fibers like SERVOgrip knife, bottom rollers with a larger diameter, and reinforced separators. It is a modular set. The individual elements can be configured based on customer requirements. The man-made fiber package improves spinning performance for yarns made of man-made fibers and blends.
The bottom rollers have a larger diameter and improve the running characteristics of the machine when long man-made fibers are used.

What are the benefits of the piecing robot for G 38?

ROBOspin is the piecing robot for Rieter ring and compact-spinning machines. One robot per machine side repairs ends down that occur while the machine is running or during doffing. The robot receives information about the position of the ends down from the integrated individual spindle monitoring (ISM).

    Ring-Winder-Connect in ESSENTIALoptimize

The Rieter ring and compact-spinning machines form an intelligent subsystem with the winding machine Autoconer X6. Proven monitoring systems are already integrated: ISM premium in the ring spinning machine, SPID online quality monitoring in the winding machine. The new Ring-Winder-Connect module compares and analyzes data from both machines. The integration into ESSENTIALoptimize creates a new level of process optimization.
