Nishat Mills Advances with Rieter R 37 Rotor Technology
In 2024, Nishat Mills Limited, one of Pakistan’s leading textile companies, became the first in the country to install five Rieter rotor spinning machines R 37, including the automated doffing system ROBOdoff. These semi-automated machines deliver high production speeds of over 100 000 rpm, consistent yarn quality and low energy consumption.
The adjustable trash channels efficiently remove impurities, ensuring top-quality yarn and fabric. Nishat Mills primarily uses the high-trash channel for local cotton with a high trash content. The option to switch channels allows flexibility for different kinds of raw material. The mill achieves over 99% efficiency, nearly matching fully automated machines. The R 37 also reduces energy consumption by around 10% per rotor compared to the fully automatic rotor spinning machine from competition.
Nishat has successfully processed polyester, pre-consumer, and post-consumer cotton waste blends (Global Recycling Standard (GRS)) on the R 37, and is satisfied with its performance using recycled fibers. The machine offers competitive quality and output at a lower capital and rotor cost. The R 37 can be a cost-effective choice for many producers. That is why Nishat has ordered five additional Rieter R 37 for its group.
Our goal was to achieve consistent quality and strong production performance for polyester-cotton blends using a machine with lower capital investment compared to a fully automatic alternative with minimum possible manpower to operate the machine.
