Original Rieter Components Restore Precision for Profitable Performance

Original Rieter comber parts help mills maintain the performance their machines were designed to deliver. Recent optimization projects at leading spinning mills showed that original Rieter technological components can significantly improve comber performance – with better yarn quality, lower noil extraction and more stable production.
Challenges in Combing Quality
Spinning mills in India and Türkiye faced persistent challenges in combing, achieving the desired yarn quality. Critical deviations in batt feeding accuracy, combing geometry or component quality lead to higher raw material loss, increased neps and yarn imperfections, reduced process stability or increased maintenance interventions. A leading spinning mill operating combers E 86 faced persistent challenges in achieving the desired yarn quality for yarn count Ne 61 combed compact yarn. To maintain acceptable yarn imperfection levels, the mill was forced to increase noil extraction, resulting in higher raw material loss. Despite this, yarn quality remained inconsistent and machine performance varied from machine to machine.
Restoring Combing Precision with Original Rieter Parts
A comprehensive machine assessment by Rieter specialists identified non-original, worn and locally reconditioned components as the main cause.
In the following, the combers were restored to the recommended settings, critical process parameters were finetuned, and the replacement of non-original components with original Rieter parts was recommended. Particular attention was given to the feeding zone, circular comb elements and top comb to restore combing precision, improve process stability and reduce noil, neps, yarn imperfections and maintenance requirements.
Fewer Yarn Imperfections, Lower Noil and Lasting Performance
Following the optimization, the results were immediately visible. The mill achieved 38% fewer yarn imperfections while reducing noil extraction by 1.3%. This translates into significant cost savings through improved raw material utilization over the machine’s operating lifetime.
In general, customers can benefit from Rieter components in multiple ways:
- up to 40% reduction in yarn imperfections,
- up to 2% reduction in noil extraction,
- improved yarn quality consistency,
- reduced maintenance requirements and
- improved machine efficiency and operational reliability.
Original Rieter technology components work as one integrated system. They provide the accuracy and reliability required to ensures precise functioning between all elements. This is the only way for spinning mills to safeguard yarn quality, optimize raw material utilization and maintain reliable machine performance throughout the machine’s lifetime.
