Rieter and Btex (Benin) promote Africa’s textile industry

Africa has enormous potential for textile production: cotton as a raw material, a young workforce, and rising market demands. This foundation makes it possible to build a robust textile production sector, transforming them from raw cotton suppliers into exporters of high-quality textile products. Benin Textile (Btex) is a fully integrated textile company producing high-quality home textiles - all manufactured using a complete Rieter spinning system. The plant is located in the Glo-Djigbé Industrial Zone (GDIZ). Equipped with around 50 000 ring spindles and 2 000 rotors, Btex achieves a production capacity of 50 tons of yarn per day, which is made from Beninese cotton, and produces 30 tons of towels and 20 tons of sheets per day.

Rieter is our first choice because the company can manage the entire implementation of a spinning mill - from project design and technology consulting to machine layout and optimization of the spinning process, covering everything from fiber to finished yarn. Together we have built a fully automated, state-of-the-art spinning mill in Benin. As partners we are driving forward Africa’s textile industry.Joshi Vireshwa, CEO and Business head of Btex

Btex is running a complete Rieter spinning system, from blowroom to winding and is extremely satisfied with the running performance and product quality. The digital mill management system ESSENTIAL enables online data monitoring and real-time data availability. This allows Btex to operate the machines at maximum efficiency of 97 – 99%, while minimizing energy consumption and operating costs.

Rieter acts as a one-stop-shop for the entire spinning mill project, and supports Btex in planning, engineering, problem-solving and process optimization during the start-up phase, complemented by top-class training and long-term customer service.
